Dave Hackenberg headlines his post, “Million-dollar baby earns her allowance and a victory,” and adds, “Ko sort of liked that suggested nickname.”
Here’s your $150 allowance
As to reaping the financial rewards for her $210,000 first-place prize money Dave writes, “The way Lydia figures, she earned $150.
The rest goes into an account managed by her mother. Ko gets an allowance.
“Ten dollars for each stroke under par,” said Lydia, who finished at 15-under 269. She may not yet have graduated from high school, but she had no trouble doing the math.”
My rough math on the million plus
Alas I don’t have the total amount of under-par strokes Lydia has accumulated when in the process of winning her one million plus dollars however I’ll be generous and suggest that perhaps her allowance to date is somewhere around 150 x 5 = 750 dollars, plus a wee bit making it say $1,000.00.
Not even enough to buy herself a nice car however as Dave reminds us, “She [Lydia] doesn’t have a driver’s license.
